ForTheSchools Removal Guide

If your PC screen gets suddenly flooded with tones of commercial pop-up advertisements, it is absolutely certain that an adware application is present on the system. Such program is ForTheSchools and similarly to many other potentially unwanted programs (PUPs), it is a typical advertising-supported application.

Because of being categorized as an adware application, no one wants to have ForTheSchools on her/his computer. One of the main reasons to be classified as a potentially unwanted program, is the ability of ForTheSchools to enter the system without asking for any permission. Besides, the fact that there is no guarantee that the services provided by the application are trusted, is a real proof that ForTheSchools should be removed from your PC as soon as possible. In other case, the PUP could be used for malware distribution and your personal security might be put in danger.

ForTheSchools uses various methods to infiltrate your virtual machine. Most often, the adware enters your system bundled with other freeware and deceives you to approve its installation. This usually happens during the setup process of new software on your computer, because you don’t read the terms and conditions provided by the setup wizard of the application. In this case, you simply agree to everything in a hurry, and let the adware into the system without even realizing it. Thus, you should be very careful every time when you install new software on your virtual machine. Otherwise, your system security will be seriously threatened.

As already mentioned above, similarly to the other adware applications, as soon as ForTheSchools enters the system, it starts flooding your web browser with tones of commercial pop-up advertisements. Unfortunately, apart from the fact that these ads are completely useless for you, they are the main reason why your computer gets slower, experiences frequent system crashes, and your personal security cannot be guaranteed.

Another thing that you should know about ForTheSchools is that it is capable of monitoring and recording your browsing history and virtual preferences. Once the program has collected enough information about your browsing habits, it will start displaying third-party content on your monitor. Keep in mind that you should not trust any of the advertisements provided by ForTheSchools, as the adware application does not take responsibility for the content shown on your web browser. So, if you click on any of the displayed pop-up adverts, you might get transferred to various websites which contain corrupted material.

Also, every click on an advert provided by ForTheSchools, brings profit to the third parties hiding behind the adware program and continues its existence. The only way to terminate all the useless adverts is to remove ForTheSchools from your PC. For that reason, deleting this application from the system is highly recommended. In addition, you have to make sure that your computer is well-protected against malware.

HomeworkSimplified Toolbar Removal Guide

The HomeworkSimplified toolbar is an extension for Chrome New Tab, powered by MyWay™. Its name is pretty straightforward. The tool is meant to help students in completing their homework assignments. This service sounds very good, but you need to know some details about the add-on. The HomeworkSimplified toolbar is considered to be a potentially unwanted program (PUP). This is because the tool performs some tasks that are unrelated to the described service and are most likely unwanted. The application will generate commercial advertisements in the forms of pop-up windows, banners, coupon boxes, interstitial, inline, in-text, transitional and floating ads. The different formats ultimately amount to the same concept – helping you safe money by finding bargain online shopping deals. This service is also good on paper, but in practice you will find out the hard way that the PUP is not concerned about your security. Some of the sites the HomeworkSimplified toolbar ads links to could lead to malware. You should not use the program to look for shopping offers. Keeping it on your PC is a risk altogether, as it is programmed to track your browsing sessions and collect data on you.

You can add the HomeworkSimplified toolbar to your browser even without downloading it. There is a link that allows you to directly acquire it on its official website, homeworksimplified.com. If you do not recall having installed the program per your own decision, you were a victim of a deceptive tactic. The HomeworkSimplified toolbar uses a number of penetration techniques, known as dark patterns. It most frequently travels with freeware in bundles. The extension is offered as an additional tool that you can install together with the main program free of charge. It is selected per default, so you need to specifically state that you do not wish to have it installed. Be sure to read the terms and conditions of the software you install to see if there are extra apps, offered with them. A spam e-mail can transfer the PUP through an attachment. The fake message will state that the file is an important document of some kind. If you are unfamiliar with the sender, you should check his contacts to see if the company he represents is reliable and that he is really associated to it. Corrupted websites and links can transmit the HomeworkSimplified toolbar through a single click. This process is called a drive-by installation. You should only visit websites and follow links whose reputation you are aware of.

The terms for using the HomeworkSimplified toolbar involve giving the program a lot of permissions. If you go to its website and click on the green button to acquire it, you will be shown a breakdown of the general terms for using the add-on. This includes allowing HomeworkSimplified to read and change your browsing history and the data on the websites you visit, manage your downloads, apps, extensions and themes. This probably does not sound like something you would want to permit and for a good reason. You should not let a tool tamper with the information in your browser. We can add a few tasks to the list of activities the HomeworkSimplified toolbar carries out. The extension will display pop-up ads on your screen, promoting shopping deals. It should be noted that the entity behind the tool is exempt from responsibility for the sites the ads link to. The extension belongs to a company from Yonkers, New York called Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc. Most importantly, the PUP is programmed to spy on you. HomeworkSimplified can keep track of the websites you visit and the search terms you enter, determine your IP address and geographic location. It can even record the saved data from your personal accounts. It sells all information it gathers without the users’ knowledge or consent. If you use any online financial accounts, you can have them hacked and your money stolen.

You should uninstall the HomeworkSimplified toolbar as soon as you see it added to the top of your browser window. There is a guide below to help you remove the PUP from your Control Panel and your browser’s list of extensions. If you did not add the HomeworkSimplified toolbar to your browser willingly, you should scan your computer with an antivirus program to check if other dubious tools were able to enter your computer behind your back and have them deleted.

Crinf File Extension Removal Guide

The Crinf file extension is associated to a ransomware program. This virus infects your system by locking most files on it, except for the system files that are necessary for it to function. Most ransomware viruses lock files. This is why they are also referred to as win-lockers. They notify you why you cannot access your data anymore and ask for a ransom to decrypt it. In most cases, the virus also blocks you internet access to prevent you from looking for a solution online. You will be given a short deadline to complete the payment. The infection threatens to never give you back your files, if you fail to complete the payment in time. Ransomware programs usually add an extension to the encrypted files. The Crinf file extension is added by a particular win-locker which we are describing in this article. Since this program has not been given a name by its developers, security experts usually refer to it simply as the Crinf ransomware. You should not let this virus manipulate you. There is no guarantee that you will really get the access back to your data after paying the amount requested. Even if the program decrypts your files, it will stay on your system. It can lock your files again at any point.

The Crinf ransomware can infect your system in a couple of ways. The software bundling method is the most commonly used penetration technique. It involves using another program, usually freeware. The tool serves as a download client. It carries the virus in its setup file. The win-locker can be installed together with the main software without running its own wizard. The virus is presented as an extra tool that you can install in parallel for free. You have to read the terms and conditions to see this option. If you neglect to do so, you would not know what you are agreeing to. The Crinf ransomware often hides behind attachments from spam e-mails. The bogus message will try to deceive you that the attached file is a document, like a receipt for a letter or delivery package, or a notice. The win-locker only needs you to click on the file to get access to your machine. You need to be very cautious about e-mail messages. If you have any doubts about them, you should check who the sender is to see if they are reliable. Both the e-mail address and the name of the person or company should be looked up. Spam senders often register an e-mail address that is similar to the official contacts of a legitimate firm to lead users astray.

Crinf-File-Extension

The Crinf ransomware will infect different kinds of files, like all audio, video and graphic formats, documents and custom software applications. The decryption usually takes place while your system is shut down. You will see the ransom message when you start your OS. The win-locker will display a message in a red background in the middle of your screen to inform you of its presence and tell you what has happened to your system. It should be noted that since the ransomware is not properly named, you will not be informed who is responsible for locking your data. Other win-lockers that have a name introduce themselves, but this one doesn’t. The only clue that this particular ransomware is responsible for your problems is that the Crinf file extension will be added to your files. After locking your data, the insidious program will demand that you pay a ransom in the amount of $500 USD via a PayPal MyCash voucher. You will be given 12 hours to complete the payment. If you do not, it will be doubled to $1000. Then you will only have another 12 hours to pay. The virus threatens to never give you back the access to your data, if you miss the deadline. The Crinf win-locker asks users to send an e-mail to the following address after completing the payment: silasw9pa@yahoo.co.uk. It instructs them to write down that they have paid the corresponding sum and write their encryption ID. It is not advised to answer to the virus’ demands. There is no reason to trust a program that has locked your PC.

Instead of paying a large sum to get the access back to your rightfully owned data, you should take action for the removal of the Crinf ransomware. The virus is difficult to remove by hand. You should use an AV program. There is a guide below to instruct you in the removal process. Unfortunately, even after deleting the virus, the Crinf file extension will not be removed from your files. To protect your data in the case of cyber attacks, we can advice you to do frequent backups of your files.

Mysites123.com Removal Guide

Mysites123.com is an alternative search engine. It features the traditional options: web search and filters for images, videos and news. The site can be used in 18 different languages: English, Arabic, German, Spanish, Persian, French, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Thai, Turkish and Chinese. The site gives no indication about any problems. However, it is associated to a number of issues. Mysites123.com is commonly used by hijackers that seek to take over your browser and use its resources for malicious purposes. The program will set this site as your homepage and default search provider to get access to your DNS settings and the data, stored in your browser. The hijacker will proceed to change your search results and try to take you to supported websites. Some of the results to your queries will not really match what you are looking for. There is no way to distinguish the supported sites, so you could land on them just by browsing the web. Any of them could be corrupted. The same is true for the pages the hijacker behind Mysites123.com links to through the pop-up ads it is known to produce. The most dangerous activity the clandestine program carries out is to spy on your online activity and collect data from your browser.

If you never visited Mysites123.com, do not be surprised to find it set to your browser. The hijacker makes the changes to your settings on its own terms. The malicious program is not spread through this site. It gets transferred through other sources, such as freeware and shareware bundles, torrents and other peer-to-peer file sharing networks. A bundle consists of two or more programs. However, only one of them is officially installed. This is the program you have willingly decided to download and use. If you are not cautious, you can have the extra program added to the installation process unknowingly. Additional applications are included in the setup file of the main tool. A program like the hijacker behind Mysites123.com does not run its own installation wizard. It comes as part of the terms and conditions of the host program. You have to read the agreement to see there is additional software included. If you skip through the separate steps in haste, you will agree to the default settings and have all additional tools installed to your system. This is why we always advice users to read the terms and conditions. It is also advisable to only use confirmed websites for downloading software. An otherwise reliable program could bundle malicious software, if it comes from an unofficial source.

The Mysites123.com hijacker will wreak havoc by completely changing the way your browser works. It will set Mysites123.com as your homepage and default search provider. Although these settings can technically be changed, the hijacker will keep on altering them every time you do. Doing a simple task like looking up information on the web will be dangerous when using Mysites123.com. The hijacker inserts supported websites in your results pages. Its developers get paid to have the program link to certain websites through your search provider. The owners of Mysites123.com, a company called Turing Tech, Inc., has disclaimed responsibility for the content of third party websites. This means you are not entitled to seek damages for landing on a corrupted page. Apart from using the search engine, the hijacker also generates pop-up advertisements through your browser. The ads feature various items at bargain prices and lavish discounts. Even if you stay away from all supported content, you will still be exposed to a security risk, perhaps an even bigger one. The hijacker will monitor your surfing sessions and collect the data that is available through your browser. This includes your history, IP address, geographic location, demographic details, e-mail address and the data from your personal accounts. Your sensitive information will be sold to interested third parties who may be cyber thieves.

You should take measures to eliminate the hijacker behind Mysites123.com as soon as you become aware of its presence on your computer. There is a removal guide below with detailed instructions. Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker Removal Guide

Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker is a ransomware program. This infection has just recently surfaced on the web. Ransomware viruses are also referred to as win-lockers because they limit the access to the infected computer. The Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker only affects the web browser by preventing you from closing it and loading new pages. This will also stop you from looking for a solution online. The message of the Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker program will remain open to pressure you to follow the bogus instructions. The malevolent infection opens a window that says you have encountered a virus. It describes the degree of the issues that can result from it. The win-locker says your system may have been hacked or hijacked. The consequences can be having your personal accounts penetrated and your data recorded. The ransomware will state that the only solution is to call a support hot line for technical assistance. The message Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker displays is a fake security warning. The win-locker falsely represents the Microsoft corporation by giving users a bogus support line to call for help. Dialing this number can lead to more problems. For starters, you can be charged with a high toll fee. The agent you will be contacted to is affiliated to the cyber criminals behind the ransomware. Following his instructions will only make matters worse.

The Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker ransomware is spread through a clandestine technique. The virus travels in spam e-mails by hiding behind an attached file. The bogus message will give you false information. It can state that the attachment is a letter, a receipt for a delivery package or a prize from some raffle, a notice for a parking ticket or another minor violation. In any event , the e-mail will present the file as an important document that you would be interested in. Opening the file is enough to commence the download and installation of Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker. You need to be very careful when handling e-mails. They often misrepresent well-known companies, such as online payment platforms, e-commerce websites and social networks. To check the legitimacy of a message, you have to look up the sender’s e-mail address and his name, if provided. A fake account with a similar address to the support e-mail of the corresponding company can be registered to lead you astray. If you have any doubts, by all means do your research before following any instructions from the message.

The Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker ransomware states that your private and financial data is at risk because of a malevolent program. It lists various kinds of data as vulnerable to attacks. This includes credit card details, banking information, online account user names and passwords, Facebook, Skype, AIM, ICQ and other social media chat logs, personal photographs and your webcam. The fake security alert will appear in a window that can be closed. However, another window will pop up immediately after. The support hot line the message provides is 1-844-290-2449. This line is operated by the people behind the Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker ransomware. Calling the number will contact you to an agent who will try to sell you some overpriced security tool which is either useless at best, or a virus itself. Together with the pop-up windows, there will be an audio message. It gives the same information as the pop-up windows. In short, it will warn you that your personal data is at risk and advice you not to shop online until you can remove the problem. You should disregard all messages by Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker and have it removed from your computer.

There are slight differences in the way this win-locker works on different web browsers. This makes for different ways to remove it. On Internet Explorer, you can stop the activity of the Microsoft Official Support Browser Locker by finding its process in your Task Manager and stopping it. On Mozilla Firefox, there will be a message that gives you the option to stop the message from appearing again. This ransomware is easier to deactivate than most other scan programs and does less damage, but you should still take measures to delete it completely. It is also advised to look for other clandestine tools. To do so, you need to conduct a complete system scan with an antivirus program.

Kilo-Search.com Removal Guide

The Kilo-Search.com website is a search provider. It offers a classic keyword search and a filter for games. The language options for the site allow you to choose between 22 different languages: English, Arabic, Spanish, Hebrew, Japanese, Norwegian, Romanian, Thai, Danish, Persian, Hindi, Korean, Polish, Russian, Turkish, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish and Chinese. The site includes links to over a dozen websites, associated to online betting, shopping and other topics. The platform often changes its logo. The current logo features a golden drawn portrait of Alfred Nobel. If you enter Kilo-Search.com at another time, you might see a different picture. Users usually encounter Kilo-Search.com because of a hijacker. This is to say that they do not voluntarily visit the site, but it gets set as their homepage and default search engine without their involvement. The hijacker changes your preferred settings to get access to your browser and use it to its disposal. The insidious program will change your search results by inserting supported websites amid the pages that genuinely match your queries. The supported websites can be malevolent. The hijacker will also collect information on you, ranging from statistical data about your browsing habits to personal details from your accounts.

It should be pointed out that visiting Kilo-Search.com will not get you infected with the hijacker that uses it for its agenda. The malevolent program is transferred through external sources, unrelated to the site. In most cases, the hijacker travels in software bundles with freeware. This tactic is very successful because users often neglect reading the terms and conditions for the programs they add to their system. There is also a common misconception about the amount of space a potentially harmful program takes up. Even a small, compact application can carry hazardous software. You should always read the terms and conditions for the software you install. If there are any extra programs offered, deselect them. It is more than likely for them to be dangerous. The other way the hijacker behind Kilo-Search.com can enter your system is through a spam e-mail. The malevolent program can hide behind an attached file. The bogus e-mail message will try to trick you to open the file by saying that it is a receipt for a letter or delivery package, a notice or another kind of document. Opening the file would unleash the hijacker onto your machine. If you have any doubts about an e-mail message, look who the sender is. Check his name and contacts to see if he really represents the entity he claims to.

The hijacker uses Kilo-Search.com for raising proceeds through the user’s activity. This is the reason why the insidious program does all these changes to your browser and utilizes its resources. The hijacker can penetrate Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. The Kilo-Search.com website has a malicious code that allows the hijacker to control the way your browser works. This is why the program will set this site as your homepage and default search engine. Using Kilo-Search.com to conduct your searches will give you unreliable results. The hijacker will show you supported websites in place of the pages that genuinely match your queries. Some of the results will still be reliable, but it is impossible to distinguish them from the supported ones. On the bottom right of the Kilo-Search.com website, there is a tab that says “Advertise”. The platform is openly associated to online advertising. You will see pop-up ads appear in new browser windows. However, the entity behind the site has limited its responsibility. Babylon Ltd., the company in question, is not held accountable for the content of third party websites. The hijacker behind Kilo-Search.com will also collect data from your browser and use it as a further means of making proceeds. The program will record your browsing history, IP address, e-mail, coordinates, tracking cookies and login credentials.

You have to find the program that is using Kilo-Search.com for its agenda and delete it. Then you can revert back to your safe settings. There is a guide below to help you remove the program manually. You can also dispose of the hijacker through an automatic system scan with an AV program. It is advised to conduct a scan regardless, because this way all other clandestine tools will also be detected and deleted.

Capricornus Ads Removal Guide

Capricornus is a potentially unwanted program (PUP). It is responsible for exposing your computer to security risks and gathering your personal data. The tool creates pop-up ads, promoting various items. The offered goods are usually small, but of high quality. The most common offers you will see in the Capricornus ads are for clothes, accessories, small pieces of furniture and decorations, household appliances, mobile phones, tablets, headphones and other simple technological devices. The proposed deals are very good. The prices are low and discounts are often made. Looking past the marketing presentation, we have to elaborate why Capricornus is considered a risky program. To begin with, the tool is ad-supported. The Capricornus ads embed links that redirect to certain pages. The application’s developers get paid to link to the corresponding websites. There is no guarantee about the legitimacy of the offered deals. Any of the Capricornus ads can lead to a malicious website, spreading malware. There is also a personal security threat, stemming from the PUP’s ability to monitor users’ browsing sessions and collect the data they have entered into their search engines and their personal accounts.

Capricornus does not have an official website. If you look for the tool on the internet, you may only find it on unreliable websites. You should be very careful about the sites you trust for downloading software. Programs that come from unreliable sources can be malevolent, or be used to transfer shady tools. The technique of spreading a given program with the help of another application is called bundling. The programs used to carry the unwanted tools are referred to as download clients. The executable file of Capricornus will be merged with the setup file of the main program. When you launch the wizard of the program you decided to use, the PUP will try to get processed together with it. The undesired program will be listed somewhere in the installation steps of the setup wizard. Adding it would be optional, but the tool will be set as approved per default. If you take no action, you will allow it on your system. Spam e-mails are another common method of distribution. A PUP like Capricornus can hide in an attachment from a fake e-mail. The message will try to lure you in to opening the file. If you have any doubts about the legitimacy of a letter from your in-box, you should check who the sender really is by looking up his contacts. Finally, the PUP has the option to hide behind a fake update message. To see if an update is due, check your update center or open the program that is requesting in.

It will not be difficult to determine that Capricornus has infiltrated your computer. Its ads are flagged with the program’s name. The label usually says “Powered by Capricornus”. Other captions we have seen are “Capricornus Ads” and “Brought to you by Capricornus”. You can look for the label on the top or bottom frame of the pop-up window. The Capricornus ads appear suddenly and cover your active windows and tabs. They will interrupt your work all the time and ruin your concentration. It is possible to click on them by accident, if they surprise you. Opening an ad is enough to get your PC infected with malware, if the site you are redirected to is malicious. You should have your guard up at all times until the PUP has been removed. Do not postpone doing so, because your personal data is also in jeopardy. Capricornus can penetrate your browser and monitor your behavior. The PUP can affect the Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox web browsers. It will record your history and the data you enter into your personal accounts. The tool’s developers will sell your information without your authorization. This could be really dangerous, if you have any online financial accounts. The people who obtain your data can hack them and steal your deposits.

To protect your system and the data you store on it, you have to delete Capricornus. There is a removal guide below to help you. Please, make sure you follow the separate steps accordingly. Another solution is to remove the PUP automatically through a system scan with an antivirus utility. A scan would not be redundant, even if you have already disposed of the program. The Capricornus ads can lead to malware infections, as elaborated. It is also possible for a clandestine tool to get installed together with the PUP.

Bronze Aid Ads Removal Guide

Bronze Aid is a potentially unwanted program (PUP). The tool is supposed to improve your browsing sessions, though it is not elaborated how it does so. The application’s website is really basic and only works as a cover-up to try to make people believe that it is useful. The tasks Bronze Aid carries out are for the benefit of its developers. The PUP will flood your screen with pop-up ads. The offers the program shows come from various websites whose reputation is questionable. The tool does not scan the source sites for the offers to make sure they are reliable. Any of the Bronze Aid ads could take you to an infected page that spreads malware. If you like shopping online, we advise you to look for other ways to find the products you are interested in. Apart from displaying advertisements, Bronze Aid will monitor your browsing sessions and collect details about you and your system. It can record your history, IP address, geographic location, tracking cookies, user names, passwords and other sensitive data. Once obtained, this information can be sold without the entity behind the software requesting your approval or informing you at all.

Bronze Aid is promoted on bronzeaid.com. The tool’s official website looks unfinished. It gives very scarce information on the application and does not provide a download link for it. This poses the question of how the program is distributed. Research has shown that Bronze Aid uses a number of dark patterns that allow the tool to infiltrate user’s systems without them having interest in using it. The most common way of penetration is through bundles. The PUP usually chooses freeware for this purpose, since users tend to download and install free programs without reading into their terms and conditions. This is where Bronze Aid would be mentioned. You have to specifically state that you do not want it added to your system, or else it will be granted access. A spam e-mail can hide the PUP behind an attachment. The text of the message will say that the attached file is an important document of some kind. Opening the attachment would automatically start the download and install of the software. If you are uncertain about a given e-mail, you should check the sender’s data to see if he is a trustworthy person. Some corrupted websites can install a program like Bronze Aid to your computer just by being entered. This process is called a drive-by installation. You should only visit websites whose reliability you have received confirmation for.

Bronze-aid
Download Removal Tool for Bronze Aid

Bronze Aid belongs to SuperWeb LLC. There are many potentially unwanted programs and adware applications, created by this developer, that we have addressed in the past. Like the vast majority of them, Bronze Aid is ad-supported. The program uses the pay-per-click system to raise proceeds for its developers. Naturally, Bronze Aid employs marketing techniques to get users interested. The offers the PUP promotes are a bargain. The items are of high quality while the price is unusually low. Various kinds of discounts are offered, like coupons, periodic, seasonal and promotional sales and others. The Bronze Aid ads come in pop-up and embedded windows. The formats we can give as examples are product comparisons, interstitial, transitional, inline, floating and in-text ads. The PUP makes them colorful, animated and inviting to get users to follow them. However, if you look at the EULA on the program’s official website, you will see that Bronze Aid does not guarantee that the sites it links to are reliable. The developer company does not cover any warranties or liabilities. This pertains to both problems with your computer and your personal data. The PUP will keep track of your sessions and record data from your browser, such as your history, cookies, IP, e-mail, location and personal account credentials. Your sensitive information can be sold to any interested parties, including cyber criminals.

Bronze Aid should be uninstalled immediately upon detection to avoid the security risks. You can find a full set of removal instructions below this paragraph. To make sure there is no other risky software on your PC, you can conduct a system scan with an AV tool afterwards. This will check for shady software that may have entered through the Bronze Aid ads, as well as for registry entries, made by the program.
