Remove PC Cleaner Pro 2012

Fake software such as PC Cleaner Pro 2012 is also called rogueware or scareware. With the help of malicious advertising strategies, these programs manage to enter computers and blackmail their users. Trojans are the ones to transmit the infection. They are hidden in hacked websites and simply wait for a visitor to click through the website. Once inside the machine, they immediately download and install the rogue.

When PC Cleaner Pro 2012 settles into a PC, it immediately starts flooding the machine with fake alerts and notifications. All of them warn about non-existing security threats and claim that the PC needs urgent security assistance. These pop-ups are not only annoying, they also hamper the user’s work and slow down the overall performance of the computer. The main purpose of the bogus warnings is to scare the user into believing their PC is seriously corrupted and prepare them for the phony scans, which are introduced with the following text:

Warning! 6743 problems require attention.
PC Cleaner Pro has found the following problems that can decrease your computer’s performance and compromise its security. Click “Fix All” to to take care of these now!

Precisely the counterfeit scans are the main deception tool, exploited by PC Cleaner Pro 2012. They start automatically and are performed frequently. The scanning window shows 6 categories, which the rogue pretends to be working on. At the end, it claims to have found a number of problems in each category, like “Junk Files” and “System Problems“. The four-digit numbers might indeed scare a user, who does not suspect that this program is a con. Then, PC Cleaner Pro 2012 advertises its own paid version as capable of eliminating all those problems. At that point of our description, there are two things worth mentioning:

  1. PC Cleaner Pro 2012’s scans are completely fake – the problems they declare to have found are made-up.
  2. There is no such thing as a “full version” of PC Cleaner Pro 2012 – everything connected with this program is a scam, aimed at making unsuspecting victims pay for a virus.

PC Cleaner Pro 2012’s game does not stop with the bogus scans. The malicious rogue may also hijack the victim’s browser and block other program from being launched. When the user tries to launch a program, PC Cleaner Pro 2012 closes it and ascribes this strange behavior to the problems, found by its phony scans.

In conclusion, PC Cleaner Pro 2012 is just another counterfeit application, which serves hackers’ needs. Provided that you spot the rogue operating on your PC, remove it immediately with the help of a genuine anti-virus tool.
