I foolishly let WiniBlueSoft to install itself – and realised that it probably wasn’t legit. So I promptly deleted it (My Computer – programs – delete). Now it keeps popping up with “you are under attack, etc etc” in these little red and white boxes (it even beeped twice). I have tried to follow everything but 1. it isn’t currently running (I tried control-alt-delete and checked processes). I have searched for the things I am supposed to manually delete (start-search). It comes up with nothing. Maybe I can’t search properly (I did follow the “How to..” guide even though mine looks a bit different from your screenshots). I am really desperate and harrassed by these stupid messages and beeps. Help…?

My computer is a Dell, Windows XP, Centrino duo if that helps. Thank you.

Oh I also tried to find the relevant folders through going My Computer – Program files – but there is no Winibluesoft folder like there should be.

Okay. Basically, I found out that there is another person who is in the same position. He deleted the programme by going to My Computer and then Add/Remove Programmes. Apparently if you do that you are screwed. omg please tell me that’s not true. Would it go away if I formatted the computer? Please help!

Hi , fixed my laptop yesterday only.

This virus wont letting me open taskmanager or any other program using which i can kill it.
It was even not allowing to open regedit.

    I did following:-
Made one bootable CD , you can even use bootable floppy disk.

Some how i managed to find that this virus uses blocker.dll to stop all the crucial programs.

so run your bootable CD, select the recovery mode.

go into directory using command prompt
    and type
    C:\Windows\System32\del blocker.dll
this will delete that dll now you reboot your machine after taking out the CD and you willbe able to open taskmanager now kill setup2.exe and also remove it from registry and C:\WIndows\System32\

there will be multiple copies of this exe may present in your machine, you need to lookin into registry , in my case i found it in C:\Windows\Temp by temp_0229900.exe name. remove such file as well.

    Good luck.
