Anti-Virus-1 Removal (AV1.exe and Antivirus 1 Info)
March 10th, 2009 | by Alex |Anti-Virus-1 Descriptions:
Anti-Virus-1, also referred as Antivirus1 or Anti Virus 1 by some people, is the latest and hottest counterfeit software that created to ruin our computers. It is undoubtedly one of the worst malwares we have seen in a while. If you have not already recognized this, Anti-virus-1 is essentially a copy of the notorious Antivirus 360, but then dresses itself differently to mislead the innocent victims. Anti-virus-1 usually comes up after you installed a video codec that come with Trojan, malware and virus. Sometimes you can get infected by visiting some malicious websites.

Anti-virus-1 normally generates fake and misleading system popup error messages so end-users will be tricked into purchase Anti-virus-1. Likely fake security popup alerts include, “Spyware activity alert! Spyware.IEMonster activity detected. It is spyware that attempts to steal passwords from Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Outlook and other programs, including logins and passwords from online banking sessions, eBay, PayPal.” And“Your Anti-virus-1 copy is unregistered. Microsoft Security recommends you to activate your antivirus protection software.”
It is very critical to remove Anti-virus-1 and all its components. The removal process requires some patience and willingness to experiment. Don’t be afraid to try as it’s probably the best way to get rid of Anti Virus 1. Be sure to back up the data first. Good luck!

You gotta be kidding. I was looking for information online and this anti-virus-1 thing popped up and asked me to purchase it. Listen! No way! I’d rather get a new iMac!

Mac has viruses too. LOL. You wouldn’t get a virus if you don’t surf the web especially porns or crack sites. That’s how I normally got them.

Anti-Virus-1 is very much the same as Antivirus 360. If you look up the AV360 removal instructions on this website, there are a lot of good advices in the comments session. It works fairely well for me.

i am running windows xp with service pack 3. however, antivirus 1 got into my laptop without much warning. i understand that some people suggested restore the system but i just have too many valuable data in the computer. i would be in big trouble if i lost them. what’s the proper way to delete it so i don’t need to worry about losing the data?

that’s the consequence of surfing porn… lol. i have no sympathy for you guys.

if you are running sp2, just upgrade to sp3. it would overwrite a lot of system files that anti-virus-1 installed and i am pretty sure this would take care of the virus.

I have no ideas how anti-virus-1 gets installed onto my computer. It’s absolutely screwing up everything. I don’t want to bring it to geeksquad since they will charge a lot for fixing it. damn it!!!

System Restore! If this doesn’t work, back up your data and format the hard drive. It’s free. Nobody can help you if you don’t want to help yourself. Virus sucks!

Jose, go f yourself! Why did you keep saying porns? I didn’t go there. NO where near those sites. Please help. This bitch doesn’t go away…

Let’s all switch to Linux which is probably the best OS out there and more importantly it’s free!!!! Linux is more reliable and anti-virus-1 could not touch it.

Let’s get real. I got this damn thing without going anywhere near porn sites, too.

Beware of all sites. Bots search for and exploit weaknesses of any web sites that they can find. XP 2009 tried to infect my computer while I was looking for a Whinnie the Pooh site for my daughter. So, apparently, they are attempting to get children to click on the “OK” button as well.

What’s going on with the people who put Antivirus 1 out on the web? The economy is bad enough but now you guys are putting a nasty virus out there to destroy my computer. Get a life!!!!!!!!!!!!!

IE7 is completely ruined by AV1. Fortunately, I always have FireFox as the secondary browser, which I use to access this blog. I booted into safe mode. End the running processes from task manager, then restored to one week ago. It’s running much better even I know it’s not completely gone. At least it’s moving now. I’ll keep you guys posted how I do. And BTW, AV1 really stinks.

I found this in another thread, but it might work for anti virus 1. It doesn’t hurt to try it if you are desperate.

I am so lucky that System Restore works fine.
This is what I did to remove Antivirus 360:
1) Restart computer into safe mode. (Press F8 immediately after RAM check in Pre-bootup)
2) Go to Start -> Programs (or Program Files) -> Accessories -> System Tools
3) Then click on System Restore.
4) It will open a new window for System Restore. Just pick the “recommended” restore point.
5) Bingo! Antivirus 360 should be removed after a reboot.

I found that this av1 was actually installed as N1 under my vista machine. I believe I got it from downloading one of the free video decoder. I was able to remove it from my computer by deleting the N1 folder under the \program files, also remove it from the RUN registry.
Good luck.
