Seems that Antivirus 360 was distributed via www(dot)antivirus360-protection(dot)com. This is just a fyi. Don’t attempt to go there otherwise you might get infected by Antivirus 360 or other trojans.

Attention all computer users: DO NOT EVER ALLOW ANTIVIRUS 360 – IT WILL REALLY MESS UP YOUR COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!! IF IT POPS UP, GET OUT OF IT IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!!!!!! I wish someone could put them out of business. It is a Trojan Virus!

You have two options, if you want to be free of Antivirus 360:
1) stop surfing porno.
2) switch to ubuntu like I do.

just spent 4 hours doing a full scan with symantec corporate, definition file 12/10, did not find it, however manual removal seems to have worked.
adds a quicklaunch shortcut. C:\documents and settings\USERNAME\application data\microsoft\Internet explorer\Quicklaunch
found in prefetch as well C:\windows\prefetch
also seems to repeatedly add reg keys to HKEY_USERS\RANDOM3\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\INTERNET EXPLORER\EXPLORER BARS\RANDOM_STRING\FILESNAMEDMRU
i have removed them repeatedly but they keep coming back.
easiest way to find it in the registry is to search for both “av360″ and “antivirus 360″

Antivirus 360 sucks!!! I got this earlier today. Now my laptop has come to a complete halt. I followed all the intructions by Alex and Comodidit above, but this damn thing is still on the screen. So f*c*king frustrated! I need someone to step up and simply all these complicated instructions so it would become less challenged to people like me. I wouldn’t mind to pay if I am sure I would get rid of Antivirus 360. It gets to a point that I would buy a new laptop since I could get a brand new dell for less than $500. Thanks in advance.

Yeah. It works for me even though I ran into a few problems. I eventually cleared everything up by restoring to the previous day. AV360 is my worst experience. period.
By V8 on Dec 11, 2008 | Reply
I didn’t see a file named “antivirus360.exe” in task manager, and none of the registry keys are there. antivirus 360 is so elusive.
By brianj. on Dec 12, 2008 | Reply
Folks, why not try system restore first? You can access System Restore from Programs->Accessary->System Tools. This is probably the easiest way to restore your computer to the previous working state.

All system restore points are wiped by Antivirus 360. What now?
By tom on Dec 12, 2008 | Reply
from my previous experience with spyware, antivirus 360 can change the name of infected files from time to time so what you see above might not be the correct files. what i would suggest you to do is to download spyhunter and use it as a scanner (free to scan and i believe they charge 30 bucks to clean). it’s a very good scanner though. it shows you the location of the infected files from antivirus 360. all you need to do is that do a search in the hard drive, typically C: drive or registry keys, then hit “Del”. if you perform the steps carefully, antivirus 360 should be removed. please let me know if you have any questions.

Gosh. I don’t know exactly how I got infected with antivirus 360 but it’s pretty annoying. I have to go back to a ghost backup image to take care of it. Thank god I had a backup of everything. Otherwise, it would have been a disaster ’cause I could never live without a computer for a moment. Just one little advise to whoever read this blog. If you are not familar with Norton Ghost, make sure you need to know about it. It would not clean your spyware or viruses. However, it would back up your whole system to a ghost image file and you can easily restore the system in case of any attacks or disaster. If you are afraid of technicalities that might involve, at least do a backup of all the data to an external drive. This is just my little experience I want to share with all of you. No need to say thank you.

First of all, I need to tell you that I am not computer-savvy so bear with me if I ask stupid questions.
I started up the computer in the morning. Guess what? Popups kept coming up and the hard drive is clicking. I can barely move the mouse.
Can someone tell me what is process? I can’t find it. I normally listen to music and read news when I am online so I did not do anything stupid.
How can people be so brutal putting antivirus 360 on my computer?
I will kick his ass if I find out who did this to me.

I am so lucky that System Restore works fine.
This is what I did to remove Antivirus 360:
1) Restart computer into safe mode. (Press F8 immediately after RAM check in Pre-bootup)
2) Go to Start -> Programs (or Program Files) -> Accessaries -> System Tools
3) Then click on System Restore.
4) It will open a new window for System Restore. Just pick the “recommended” restore point.
5) Bingo! Antivirus 360 should be removed after a reboot.
Hope this helps

ok boys. if your restored points got wiped by antivirus 360 or you didn’t have system restore set up properly, i have to say you are out of luck. you can either buy a legit cleaning software such as spyhunter or norton antivirus 360 (the legit one). if you are as smart as I am, you can try the manual removal intructions.
let me know if you need more help.
By Yesman on Dec 13, 2008 | Reply
Antivirus 360 took out all the restored points so I have no luck with the shortcut. I ran the spyhunter scan then deleted all the files manually. Spyhunter costs $30 but the scanner is free. It would display the path in details so all you need to do is to follow the instructions and delete those files one by one. I didn’t have to pay for a dime. It works for me, and hope it works for you as well. Yes!!!

Guys if someone trying to open Taskmanager and get the message “task manager was disabled by the administrator” do the following:
start > run
type cmd and hit enter
then type this line: REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableTaskMgr /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f
also you might have Registry disabled
the line would be:
REG add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System /v DisableRegistryTools /t REG_DWORD /d 0 /f

I downloaded Jon Rutters Christmas Nativity from Limewire. When I tried to play it, Realplayer opened and Av360 attacked my laptop. Couldn’t find it or get rid. I use windows xp home. I removed Limewire and realplayer with add and remove programmes. clicked start, help and support, undo changes with system restore, didn’t create a restore point before restoring. Chose just to restore to previous day, did that. After that I downloaded Zonealarm free 15 day trial. Full scanned, it found what was left (trojans)from Limewire, it got rid. I restarted laptop, re- downloaded limewire and realplayer. Hey presto!! Perfect. Might not work for some. All this for a christmas Carol.

Ok……..All who have been attacked. Not all is lost. Try Hua’s fix. This one works on most systems. System Restore has to be intack though. If not then do the following.
1. If you are not skilled enough, pay someone who is. Much easier and less stress.
2. Make copies of all files you want or need on seperate disk, ie.. thumb-drive, DVD, or CD.
3. Do a complete OS re-install. This is done either on a complete set of DVD or on your seperate restore drive.
4. First thing to re-install is Anti Virus, Spyware Detection and other malware detector/removal tools.
5. Learn from this mistake. Never push yes when you have no idea what the question really is. AV360 asks to be installed.
6. Pass the information on to all your address book so they dont have to learn the hard way.

If ur computer savvy, first stop all instances in task mgr (ctrl/alt/delete- av360),go to ctrl panel>add + remove prog>uninstal av360, remove from startup (start>run>msconfig)delete the registry instances manually – stay out of registry if ur not savy, get help. Restart and u should be good. If ur screen settings are chged, go to properties from right click on desktop and choose proper settings for ur display. These combined techniques shld help if you cant pay for fix right now or syst restore points are lost. GOOD LUCK!

REMEMBER – CHANGES TO THE REGISTRY ARE IMMEDIATE – THERE IS NO UNDO. BE SURE YOU DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THIS PROCEDURE.
Keep in mind that there is no one solution for this problem. Everything depends on the length of time this bug has been on your system. Reinstalling the OS should be a LAST RESORT not a first resolution.
If you can get to the internet, there are 2 free 15 day trial scanners that I have tried and trusted over the last 10 years: SpyHunter and Counter Spy. These scans should find and remove the mojority of the AV360 bug. Feel free to remove them after your system is clean (through ADD/REMOVE Software in the control panel)if you do not want to be bothered with paying for them after 15 days.
For those that did find that the system restore worked for you, make sure you go in and remove your restore points and create a new restore point from the clean system you just created(right click MY COMPUTER / PROPERTIES / SYSTEM RESTORE / click on ‘turn off system restore’[adds checkmark] APPLY then click ‘turn off system restore’[removes checkmark] OK). If you don’t, you run the risk of restoring the bug back onto your computer at a later date.
If you find that you are unable to start your system restore(a side affect of the bug), you can activate it by doing the following:
Go to the system Registry (Start,Run, type in:regedit and click OK)
Highlight MY COMPUTER and under EDIT select FIND
Type:RestoreOpenIsSafe and click find next.(F3 to move to next instance)
Modify each instance (right click and select modify) to change the value to 1 and click OK.
Exit the registry.
REMEMBER – CHANGES TO THE REGISTRY ARE IMMEDIATE – THERE IS NO UNDO. BE SURE YOU DO NOT DEVIATE FROM THIS PROCEDURE.
The last steps should be to manually delete any AV360 or AntiVirus 360 folders under the Program Files folder in windows explorer, then empty the Temp folder of its contents, and the Temporary Internet Files folder of its contents (leaving the CONTENT IE5 folder, but emptying it of all its subfolders). Most bugs will reside in these folders and MicroSoft never tells you that they should to be emptied periodically. This can also be done through Internet Explorer / TOOLS / INTERNET OPTIONS but is not as thorough.
Once your system is clean, take the time to install a good anti-virus/internet firewall and anti-spyware program. Several come bundled together. The peace of mind and lower frustration level is well worth the cost. I could make recommendations but everyone has a favorite. If you would like my recommendation please contact me.
Goog Luck and be carefull out there.

This is a church computer, and I am the only one that uses it – and I do not go to porno sites, so drop that excuse.
I do, however, search for clip art for publications from time to time, but haven’t even done that today. Only went to one news channel site to view the local news.
And no matter what you try, you can not delete av360.
Tried it, didn’t work. Said I didn’t have the authority even though I am set as the administrator.
There has to be some way to search these folks down and sue them for highjacking a computer. You can do it for a car, why not a computer?
God bless.

Oh, and btw, spy/ad/malware doesn’t just come from porno sites. You watch Youtube? u expose yourself. You play ActiveX games? you expose yourself. Any time any sort of scripting is running (ActiveX, Flash, Java), a virus could be installed. Do yourself a favor, go to mozilla.com, get FireFox, install it’s addon, No-Script, and use common sense while manually allowing scripts. Most sites can be trusted, but one mis-click on a search page could bring you plenty of grief with scripts allowed.

Based on advice from here, I downloaded Spyhunter and it found an astonishing 631 infected files. I purchased the activation for removal for $30 and within minutes my PC was back to normal. Well worth the money. Looks like I am not going to renew my Norton this year after 4 years of having it. Hope this info helps.

A friend of mine’s daughter was playing on the computer and picked up av360. When I went to do a restore it would not progress past the confirm page and then when I tried to stop all the processes associated with av360 and do the restore the restore points were gone. The next step was to go and get spy hunter and when I attempted to do that it started to block the internet. It was almost as if it was blocking attempts it recognized as a way of removing it.
This is one nasty virus. One suggestion I have is to download spyhunter on a cd and keep it incase you need to use it at a later date.
There should be some sort of governing body that can regulate people who create and distribute these viruses. They should be banned from any isp provider.
Thank you for your suggestions and help in removing this nasty worm.

I have done IT for years and find this one to be the worst. It is not only from Porn sites contrary to what I thought. I clicked a link on the Drudgereport for a legit news page and got the first pop-up wanting me to install it. Also three or four people at my work got it from legit sites. I always advise to IMMEDIATELY power off the PC, then boot to safe mode and search for the files Antivirus 360.exe or AV360.exe. If it’s not there, then go to your profile and check the startups and desktop, also search the registry. If it’s not there odds are when you restart your PC it will not be there. Every single time I’ve had a fellow associate simply power down after the pop-up, none of the PCs had it, they went on with their day.

Thanks for all of your help! I truly believe these viruses are put out by the software companies – but NO ONE should ever push the “yes” button to install without undertanding what it is needs their head examined. Always disable popups and only download active X if you need to. DO NOT download free music, videos, etc. You are only asking for viruses. This should be common knowledge but new viruses always come out before the fix, I assume for the aforementioned reason.

the system restore would not let me go back to any previously saved restore points. I did stop the process in Task Manger, which slowed the virus down a bit. I tried looking in the registry to delete files associated with av360 av2009, but I think the builder of this virus is changing it as it goes, and they were not there, (or at least I couldn’t find them). I did go to the anti malware site, it was free and did the trick. it took some time getting to the site as it kept hijacking the browser. I would copy the url before the hijacking and open up a new browser, and paste the needed URL into the address bar. It took some time but I was able to get there and download the software. I hope this helps, and I would like to respond to the trolls who think Porn is the only way to get viruses. Grow-up!

My front desk office computer “woke up” with AV 360 today – obviously not related to porn site activity. Finally got rid of the problem by opening in Safe Mode (F8) and then doing System Restore. Could not do System Restore directly from Accessories no matter what date I chose.
By Dr J on Feb 10, 2009 | Reply
Try to boot up in Safe Mode (hold down F8 when the computer starts) and hit enter when your XP Windows choice pops up. Then try System Restore. Pick a date and it should work. It’s like going back in time before the virus hit your computer, so it’s important to pick a date pre-AV360. You will lose data on your system entered after your Restore date, so only go back as far as necessary. If you need to know when the virus hit your system, go to My computer, C: drive, Program files, and AV360. The date on the file is when it entered your system.

My folks love those funny e-mails that come across, with files attached and links to those websites. They were infected with AV360 and Haxdoor, and 6 other fun stuff. Some of the fun stuff are within the ‘Google’ folders and won’t let you Google: locks the browser or does the blue screen of death (what a fake).
I got the AV360, Haxdoor, and SPControl trojans and rogues by scanning their computer 4 times by a spyware software called Stopzilla, by Is3 corporation. It’s good software, robust of the spyware items, and can do on some viruses.
My parents’ copy of McAfee is only for antivirus, and there you go.
Now to clean the registry, with some registry cleaning software agent. Meanwhile, their computer is slowly limps along, but, my folks can get on the internet, no prob. I’d be back there next week to get that done.
One of those intruders corrupted their McAfee, which needed to be re-installed as well (Fake AVG?).
Be careful of what you open via e-mail as well as websites.
By sannbaldwin on Feb 12, 2009 | Reply
OH, one more thing about AV360, it loves to be active, and gives you wonderful notices about the magnificent amount of worms, trojans and other malware nasty stuff. The person(s) who developed this malware cannot spell, either. Please, if you can, scan ‘Documents and Settings’ for AV360. The start menu folder there has the AV360 reference. Removing it, removes the feedback from the rogue, only. At least doing that hushs the virus to let you get to cleaning your system, if you are not sure (like I was) to attack the virus.
By sannbaldwin on Feb 12, 2009 | Reply
And I wasn’t being complete about using ‘Google’ with AV360 and the other rogues as I mentioned. If you have these, don’t use Google, for those malware will do their things.

QUICK, EASY, and FREE FIX for AV360:
After dealing with this A360 virus for about two days and having troubles getting it out, I heard from a friend that had it and got rid of it. His 17 year old daughter told me how to remove it and it took about 3 minutes and worked perfectly without downloading any programs or anything.
Go to the Start button and pick Search. Search files and folders on the word “install”. When complete, sort those findings by date so that the newest files are at the top. Looks for a file that says “Uninstall” and says A360 (what mine had) or AV360 or Antivirus 360. It will be one of the newest files and should be dated the same as when you started having problems.
Double-click that file and it will be uninstalled in a couple of minutes. We’ve not had the problem with the popups or anything since doing that.
Straight forward, very simple, quick, and FREE.

In most cases of A360 the ‘restore system’ function is disabled and cannot be enabled anymore. otherwise it would indeed be to easy.
I used the A360 removal instructions to search for any remaining files but i couldnt find any so, with some luck i’m saved

so my dad got this virus on his desk top and he shares norton 360 off my 3 user account so i chatted with a norton advisor and they offered to fix it for a one time fee of UD $99.00. and i said i just paid almost a hundred dollars for the software now they want another hundred. well needless to say i didn’t give them anymore of my money and even accused them of piping the virus into my computer via and automatic update just so i would have to call them and pay them 99 dollars. my version of repair was pretty much the same as above in a round about way, but if the virus has infected too much a clean sweep is going to be the only sane way to do it…thanks for all the advice.

If you people think system restore is the answer to life’s oop’s in regards to computers you are sadly mistaken. If your going to deal with anything like AV 360/AV 2009 so on and so forth you need to hit it in the registry. Look through everything. Safe mode it up, scan it, my McAfee grabbed 27 errors, but there was still more I had to dig through. Disable system restore…that’s where virus’ like to chill out…anyone with computer knowledge knows this…and if all else fails blow your OS away. If your smart you’ll have back up usb drives of all your data, it’s a 10 minuute task a day not even, to keep from losing important shit.

1. Restart computer in safe mode (Press F8 immediately after RAM check in Pre-Boot Up) I just pressed F8 a bunch in the very beginning, then it showed safe mode.
2. Go to Start – Program (or Program Files) – Accessories – System Tools
3. Then click RESTORE.
4. It will open a new window for system restore. Just pick the “recommended” restore point. (I just picked a restore two days ago.
5. Bingo! Antivirus 360 should be removed after a reboot, which occured automatically.
Whew, many thanks.

Hey there, I recently ‘downloaded’ AV360 by accident. It is a malicious process that runs invisibly, so it is a matter of ending that process. All you need to do is open the Task Manager (you can use ctrl+alt+del, or ctrl+shift+esc to bring up the task manager). Click on the “processes” tab, and find av360 in the list. Click on it to highlight it, and then click End process. You can then delete the file from your computer! You may need to search for the file called AV360. This trojan creates a file on your computer, so you will need to find this file in order to delete it completely. Best wishes, and good luck! -Jen

Antivirus 360 is a piece of crap and i want to kick the ass of whoever came up with it. I wasn’t even looking up anyhting bad when I came across it. Thankfully i found out how to get rid of it, for those of you who are as technoligically challeneged like me I’ll make this as easy to follow as possible.
1. turn off your computer
2. turn computer back on while repeatedly pushing f8 to enter into safe mode
3. there will be a list of options to choose from on a black screen, simply enter ’safe mode’
4. enter on the administration account
5. when you get on the account go to the start menu, all programs, accessories, system tools, then system restore.
6. from there follow the directions, it took me about 10 minutes and I was pain in the ass free
system restore won’t delete files or anything, it will simply return the state of your comouter to an earlier date

AV360 has different variations that affect differert files, depending on your Anti-virus.
360 can compromise Task Manager on some and not
allow you to kill it, only view it.
———————–
The original AV360 Folder resides in ‘PROGRAM FILES’, but establishes attributes that do not
allow it’s Deletion in Windows. It also disables/deletes some computer’s ‘Restore’ files, which leaves you no alternative but to use BILL’S METHOD of 02/05/2009.
——————–
To insure a clean C:Drive, use BILL’S METHOD. This method goes to the root_files thru DOS, before Windows even starts. That is what the ‘Safe Mode’ does. You MUST work with the ‘Command Line’, therefore you Must know some basic DOS.
First use ‘DIR’ (enter) to see your Folders.
Then move thru each Folder using: ‘CD Windows’(enter) for example.(the spelling and caps/or/small must match perfect).
When you find the AV360 folder use: ‘DEL AV360′ and this will get rid of the 360’s root folder. Then when you START Windows, just do your Search, and clean-up any other 360 files you might find.

FYI to those with Norton Protection with Norton Security System, Norton neither protects against nor removes Anti virus. In addition, the Symantec website does not even seem to have this one in their databases. I had just fully upgraded my wife’s Norton and run three successive scans. I then turned the computer over to my wife and went to bed. She clicked on a popup window and now I am spending a day manually removing something that should have been caught by Norton.

The previous instructions do not remove the Browser Helper Object. this is what causes IE to keep displaying the av360 page. Delete the following key from the registry:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{D263FA6D-84CC-48A8-9AF6-C664362B7A5B}]
@=”&Research”
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{D263FA6D-84CC-48A8-9AF6-C664362B7A5B}\InprocServer32]
@=”C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\winconfig.dll”
“ThreadingModel”=”Apartment”
The IE Add-ons now show only the Office 2003 Browser Extension. The Research Browser Helper Object is gone.
To go one step further, open a command prompt type “regsvr32 /u winconfig.dll”. It returned an error, so I decided to rename the file. As soon as I tried to do that, Symantec deleted it. Apparently when the dll is registered, Symantec, Spysweeper, and Spybot Search & Destroy cannot see it.
That is one nasty little piece of malware.

Norton now knows how fix antivirus 360. All you have to do is pay them $99.99 and they’ll walk you through it. I know because I just paid them. Let’s see all you have to do as an Anti Virus Company is wait until a real tough virus or worm appears then don’t stop it for your customer even though you’ve known about it for months and when your customer gets the virus tell them that the product that you have sold them can’t fix it but if you pay us another $100 we can help you get rid of it. Norton has lost a customer for life.

The story of my struggle and semi-victory over Antivirus 360
Hi,
I am under the impression that I contracted this thing after visiting a sketchy torrent site. I have no idea HOW I contracted it, but needless to say I’m pissed.
Every 15 minutes, I would have one pop up from Internet explorer telling me to get their product, which I obviously ignored and closed. Fortunately, even though this occurred regularly every 15 minutes, the number of pop ups would never exceed 1. So that was nice. But it was still annoying.
I used AVG antivirus and Lavasoft’s ad-aware anti-spyware software for starters, did some research on the nefarious bug, used my hosts file to make the pop up a laughable empty blank screen. Looks like I have the fiend checked and cornered.
I looked up files in the system registry, looked up processes in task manager, files in sys 32, couldn’t find a thing – perhaps my lavasoft ad-aware removed all of them for me. I am uncertain.
I do notice that the names of these malicious files are not necessarily the ones previously mentioned. For instance, I could not find out what pp2.exe did for the life of me anywhere on the net, but upon deleting pp2.exe, the pop up prompts (blank due to the hosts file) disappeared. I feel as though I have struck a decisive blow against the fiend.
I also found pp2.exe and dll32.exe (both sketch files) in my system 32. This is odd seeing as to how I used windows search to look for all fiels created from March 9th to March 9th and it somehow missed these, which, according to their properties, were created March 9th.
Having felt victorious, I decided to restart the computer, and if I had any more troubles, I’d resort to a system restore.
Big mistake.
Upon restarting my computer, not only were sketchy processes like pp2.exe, dll32.exe, and rn.tmp running again, but worse still – my FIREFOX was hijacked. FUCK! I googled antivirus 360 removal, and when I clicked on a link, I was redirected to some wierdass site. Same applied for every other link! Somehow, the leviathan rose from the dead and held a tenuous grasp around my throat!
The next time I restarted, firefox stopped working altogether. This monster has deprived me of the ability to use the internet against it!
I attempt the syttem restore. THE MONSTER HAS DESTROYED ALL BUT ONE CHECKPOINT – March 9th 2.10am, just a little more than one hour BEFORE I noticed the anomalies. It SHOULD work, even if it just barely. My fingers are crossed.
My heart shrieks in agony as I get the mesasage, “Your computer cannot be restored to March 9th 2.15am, NO changes have been made to your computer”
What demonic virus am I dealing with? Such that it torments the mind and scoffs at my every apparently vain attempt to subdue it?!
It is only when I restart the computer in safe mode than I am able to perform the system restore. I do not expect to win. But in a sudden twist of fate, IT SUCCEEDS!
Is all restored? Almost – I still have a suspicious list of procceses in my windows task manager – for one thing, I have about 5 svchost.exe’s running. That can’t be right.
Although there is something more grave than that. As if Antivirus 360 taunted, “scorched earth policy, bitch” it would appear my firefox has been rendered unoperational.
Currently I type this via google chrome, but firefox does not work. The error message:
“The proxy server is refusing connections
Firefox is configured to use a proxy server that is refusing connections.
* Check the proxy settings to make sure that they are correct.
* Contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working.”
My guess is that my firefox is tainted, and my university firewall refuses it.

I picked up AV360 this morning and got rid of it by starting up in safe mode then did a system restore. So far so good! Fortunately I quickly realised something was wrong and didn’t go through the full install but even so it caused havoc in my laptop.
I’m disgusted that people create these viruses to attack our computers, have these people nothing better to do with their time? they’re pathetic!
By david on Mar 10, 2009 | Reply
ok, so different things seem to work for different people but after trying various things I seem to have stumbled on what worked for me. First I tried the manual Ctrl-Shift-Esc method and though this works for the short term, every time I rebooted, AV360 would come back. So, here is what I did. I went to my desktop screen and then linked to My Computer. Then used the Search Option. Went to All Files and Folders when asked what I wanted to search and typed in AV360. My PC did a scan and came up with two of the virus files. Then I simply deleted them. Still suspicious, I turned my computer off to see if AV360 would return and lo and behold it didn’t! Now, I am far from a computer wiz so I found this groping around in the dark, so to speak. Hope it works for you as well! Also, if you bastards who create this sort of thing are out their reading this, I would like for you to know what pathetic little maggots you are! You can’t get a grip on your own life and choose to try and ruin others! Just simply pathetic…

doesn’t have anything to do with porno- surfing popular sites and using freeware such as free downloading software, free game sites (gamevance was one I noticed) you get a pop up that looks official, the icon looks like windows security center so of course you’ll click if you don’t know enough about it. Just remember the answer you think is the right one is always wrong and thats how it downloads! hit Ctl+alt+delete and end task on the popup. I also suggest if you aren’t sure how to use your freeware music/video service that you not bother with it, it takes downloading the wrong thing once to lose everything on your computer-not to mention you are allowing others who have the knowledge to access your computer and files. AV360 whatever you call it it has several names all just as annoying as the other. The solution is around the corner just wait before reloading if you want to save your stuff. Until then, it’s just going to be a longer drawn out process to fix until there is a fix- and when there is a fix- they’ll just change it again to something worse- thats how it works!

Finally got it. Thanks to all of the help from everyone. I would search and destroy all of the AV360 files and registry values I could, but then the darn thing would just block websites. I tried restoring the system, but it wouldn’t let me. I started reading this stuff from the bottom up to get the latest tricks that worked. I did as dirwin said on 3-4-09 and found one of those registry files present. I then re-searched files and folders for AV360, then the registry… and BINGO!!! Gone!!! Time for a toast. Here’s to the person who locates the person responsible for this so I can remove his fingers one joint at a time until all he can type with is his elbows.

Holy! I guess I’m far too lucky.
In the beginning, I let it runs the scanning process. But smart of me that I doubt the speed of scanning, “how could it finish scanning in only 10~20 seconds?”, and then it tells me that I got hundreds of Trojans(number like 157 Trojans or 329 Trojans etc).
And then I immediately search for information about it, and find out that it INDEED IS A VIRUS!!!
Thanks for all the websites that helped me! And lucky for me~

I cannot believe it… A360 caught me unawares last night. I was trying to figure something out then this pops up with 50million viruses, etc and I allow it in assuming it was an update from Norton 360.
I found the A360 file in program files but it wont let me delete – permission issues.
I turned off my internet access, uninstalled Norton, reinstalled and selected to scan during install. Windows detected A360 tried to Quick Launch so i deleted that so the pop ups stopped.
I went back and deleted every trace of A360 and this time it allowed me. at first my ie seemed ok then i visited one of the sites i tried to visit last night and A360 was back eventhough I’d deleted all the files…
Dirwin – I went to delete the registry key and its all sorted now… thanks!
ps. If you have firefox, you can use that whilst you try and sort this rubbish out. zero impact on firefox.

I followed the advice that “stacey” gave on 2/21/’09. It worked for me.
I was the unlucky recepient on this ugly thing twice in the pass week. This is what I did to remove it.
.Open My computer, choose Disk C;
2.Find the folder Program files / Common files / System / Uninstall ;
3.Run the file Uninstall_A360.exe I had e-mailed the company and they told me to do this. it worked immediately.
You just may have to uninstall it twice for it to be fully removed.
Good Luck

I just spent two days trying to find and uninstall all the av360’s and stuff off of my computer and it kept coming back. I then went to best buy where they quoted me at $200.00 to get it all off. I wouldn’t fork over the money, came home and went to the “backup and restore center” on my Sony vaio with Vista and restored it to the way it was 3 days ago (pre-virus). This fixed it in three minutes and I didnt lose any documents.

I had AV360 on my computer with all the popups interrupting all the time. I read alot of info about how to get rid of it. I’m not computer savy, so I went for the easiest “fix”. I downloaded the free scan of SpyHunter and the scan found AV360 all over the place on my computer as well as lots of other bad stuff. Then I purchased SpyHunter for $29.99 for 6 mos. and used it to remove all the hidden dangers to my computer – including AV360. It only takes a few minutes and AV360 is GONE!! I highly recommend SpyHunter.
By blah on Mar 16, 2009 | Reply
You all are all screwed even if you remove it. It changes names and updates to work around the scanners that remove it. Your antivirus software is not strong enough to protect you. You’re just going to pick it up again just the same as you did before. I don’t see how some of you think you know when you picked it up because it’s usually hidden inside other files. You didn’t even know you installed it. It gets installed and then it starts popping up at random once infected and eventually it gets worse. It doesn’t just make its way onto your machine on its own either. If you think you didn’t do anything you’re wrong. You did. You just don’t know what you’re doing to know what you did. Most people get it from visiting sketchy websites (warez, music, videos, porn, bootlegs, software related to the above, and other misc shady sites) and/or installing video codec’s to view videos you probably shouldn’t be looking at anyway. You didn’t get it from Monster.com, your bank site, careerbuilder, or any of the other legit sites people are claiming to have gotten it from. I strongly suggest if you are ignorant with a PC that you should seriously consider a Mac. PC’s take much higher expertise to keep free of problems nowadays. You’re just going to spend endless hours trying to figure things out and spending money to have a professional fix it. I’m so sick of having to remove this from people’s machines just to have them reinfect it all over again!!

I came across this virus in the latter part of November 2008 or early 2008. It was a serious pain in the butt. On Christmas day I finally raised the white flag and did a low-level reformat on my one and only hard drive at that time. I used Microsoft’s advice to remove it, advice from other people on the internet, went through my files and the registry on my computer, etc. I was able to get rid of some of the files that pertained to this virus (and I’m only assuming that they themselves were not “trojans”) but this did not stop the headaches. I suspect I got the virus when I let my cursor roll-over an ad in Facebook, the one and only time that occured on that website for me. I did not click on anything. It may not have been the roll-over, but suddenly a new window opened up on my screen of a porno site and that virus just leaped into my computer. It happened two or three times after that during the next couple of months and on both occasions I IMMEDIATELY switch off the computer using the button on the face of the computer. No harm seems to have come from those attempts. I am fed up with criminal activity on the internet.
