Antivirus Trigger Removal Instructions (AntivirusTrigger)
December 6th, 2008 | by Alex |Antivirus Trigger Descriptions:
Antivirus Trigger, also known as AntivirusTrigger, is new counterfeit anti-spyware software that created to invade yoru privacy and ruin the Internet community. It’s obvious that the creator has renamed Virus Trigger into Antivirus Trigger to damage our Internet life further. Just like most fake antispywares, Antivirus Trigger issues misleading and exaggerated results. Antivirus Trigger usually installed itself onto your PC without your permission, through Vundo Trojan, Virus or fake software. Antivirus Trigger will display fake system alerts or fake security alerts to trick user to buy the paid version of Antivirus Trigger , in order to remove the potential and reported problems. Likely error messages include, “System Alert! Your system might be infected with malicious software that may impact the performance of your computer. Click the icon for a free scan to detect any active spyware applications.” Not only does Antivirus Trigger cause your machine to perform sluggishly, it would also put your privacy and data in risk.

As we understand, it is very difficult but necessary to remove all the components of Antivirus Trigger and all the malware and trojans that Antivirus Trigger might have come bundle with (such as zlob.trojan, trojan.vundo and Trojan.Downloader). To effectively remove Antivirus Trigger, we have created a manual removal instructions to take care of this. Be sure to back up the data first. Good luck in removing Antivirus Trigger and relating trojans!

I accidentally got caught with Antivirus Trigger bullshit last night. I went through all the steps such as stopping processes as well as disabling executable in startup folder. After that, I reboot the computer and deleted the bad files manually. Now the computer seems to be working fine. However, I am still suspectible if there’s any leftovers that might come back and haunt me in the future.

Does anyone know how to fully remove this virus trigger? I purchased StopZilla and I have Trend Micro but nothing seems to work. I rebooted my system after doing a full sys scan and I removed all found threats and this thing keeps popping up trying to do a virus scan.
It looks like red and white light house.

I too have fallen victim of this f****king program!!!!!!!!!!! It’s bullshit! I spent 4 hours last night trying to fix it. It’s uninstalled Service Pack 2 & 3 from my machine, so Kaspersky won’t work (why it was off, I have no idea - i work from 8:30 in the morning till 5:30 at night and don’t get home till 6:30pm at night, and it was working fine up until the lunchtime — or so my fiance says)…
I will try following these instructions :/

This Antivirus Trigger is so freaking annoying. It turns my laptop into a mess and I could not use it. I swear. If I found out who installed Antivirus Trigger on my computer without my permission, I would file a lawsuit. I would not have mercy for these people since they don’t have mercy on me.

I did the search, but none of the files you mentioned were there. I think the virus might have another file name it is hiding under. Please post if you have any additional info.

I did everything I could find on the internet but there’s still this annoying bubble saying that there’s a malware threat. It leads to a download for antivirus trigger, obviously I don’t touch it but is REALLY annoying. PLEASE HELP!!!

Thank you!! I have AnvTrgr.exe running in the background. I stopped it from Task Manager then searched for all the files. Guess what? It’s gone after a reboot. Hope it won’t strike back. Keep my fingers crossed!

My problem here now is, I haven’t install it,but the message alert keeps popping out to trick me into download the software.

Jeff, & any others unable to get to the web, you may be able to download Firefox via ftp and then install that to get to the web. Instructions, in case you haven’t used ftp manually before:
Open a command prompt (Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt). Look carefully at the path that is shown (it’s probably the path to your Documents & Settings user folder, but may be different). This is where the downloaded file will end up.
Type:
ftp releases.mozilla.org
It should open and ftp session to mozilla’s ftp site. You should be able to log in as anonymous with a password of your e-mail address.
Then type (this line may wrap due to length; it’s just one line when you type it):
cd /pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/latest/win32/en-US/
(you could also cd into each directory individually, ie:
cd pub cd mozilla.org …)
Once your into the en-US directory, type
binary
then type (the quotes are essential; the name has spaces):
get “Firefox Setup 3.0.4.exe”
Other than the cursor dropping to the next line, you won’t get any feedback until the download is complete. It’s about 7.5MB, so it may take a while depending on your network speed.
Once it’s downloaded, type “Firefox Setup 3.0.4.exe” and the setup program should run.
Hope this helps! (I don’t check this forum, so feedback on this message will be futile.)

can anybody please help us, my boyfriend has now got this anti virus trigger hell the screen has now gone upside down what do we do????

IT seems that there is a even newer varient because task manager reveals none of the above .exe files. Furthermore, system restore is also blocked and I have only a minute to do one or two things before the whole computer freezes. Therefore, I am screwed what a lovely present to open for the holidays.
