Arestocrat Virus Removal

Arestocrat Virus, also known as Department of Justice Virus, or Fake DOJ (FBI) warning infection, is a ransomware virus. It locks your desktop, so you cannot access your computer. It displays a message which informs you that you are accused of visiting websites with child pornography on them and of copyright infringement. As is evident from the name of the category in which this type of virus falls in, it wants your money.

This virus is a part of the Ukash Virus family. It is similar to infections such as FBI Virus and United States Courts Virus. Because it presents itself as the United States Department of Justice, this virus only targets users from the USA. The virus poses as a local law enforcement agency and displays fake messages accusing people of illegal activities. There are many other versions of this various each one of which targets users in specific countries. Every version has an interface adapted for its targeted country.

Although a part of the Ukash Virus group, this infection uses Moneypak as a payment transfer system. The message it displays informs users that they have been performing illegal activities and are obliged to pay a $200 fine. They have 72 hours to comply, or else they will be arrested. Absolutely do not pay any sum of money. You have committed no crime, and no one will come to arrest you. This is a scam. Even if you find the so-called fine to be a small sum for you, do not pay. Paying of the scammers may not result in your computer getting unlocked. Keep in mind that this virus can only lock your screen, it cannot delete any files on your computer. So, if you see such a message, ignore it. What you should do is remove the virus at once.

In order to remove the virus, first you will have to unlock your computer. If you want to use your computer in normal mode, then you will have to remove the virus altogether.
