Dangerous Virus Removal Instructions

Dangerous Virus is a fake message used by fake anti-spyware software like Malware Bell or Files Secure which will display Dangerous Virus as a fake popup message or their scan result to trick user to buy the fake anti-spyware program. The fake anti-spyware program usually get installed onto your PC without your permission, through Trojan, malware and virus (or you could get it by installing a fake video codec).

The possible error messages are either “Your system is infected by dangerous virus! Note: Strongly recommend to install antispyware program to clean your system and avoid total crash of your computer! Click OK to download the antispyware. (Recommended)”. As discussed previously, these messages are completely misleading. You can safely remove “Dangerous Virus” message by following our manual removal instructions if you are familiar with regedit and dll files. Good luck!

    Downloading and Running Windows Live OneCare (Free Trial Period) will also get rid of this annoyance. My company is using Semantic anti-virus but this slipped passed it. When i scanned with onecare it found and deleted the appropriate files

    I’ve got the exact message as displayed on top of this page, but none of the files or registry entries in the manual removal method was found on my computer. Any suggestions?

    Duh, these malwares are sophisticated enough to randomly generate new filenames for the .dlls that are being downloaded AND your preftech files could easily be different as well… Although well-meaning, Brian posted a list that showed on HIS pc but it’s not going to help anyone else…
