IEAntiVirus (IE AntiVirus) 3.3 Removal Instructions
July 4th, 2008 | by Alex |IE AntiVirus 3.3 Descriptions:
IE AntiVirus 3.3 (ieantiavdownload.com), also known as IEAntiVirus or IE AntiVirus 3.2 , a rogue anti-spyware application by itself but advertises itself as a removal tool. This annoying rogue antispyware application is back after changing its face mask. It is believed that it is a variant of Malware Bell, IE Defender or Files Secure. As a matter of fact, it is one of the latest counterfeit anti-spyware softwares that causes troubles for so many innocent computer users today.

Technically, IE AntiVirus (ieantivdownload.com), usually installed itself onto your PC without your permission, through Vundo Trojan, Zlob Trojan, Virus or fake software. IEAntiVirus will also display fake system alerts or fake security alerts to trick user to buy the paid version of IE AntiVirus. However, it’s so untrue and misleading. Not only does it cause your machine to slow down or degrade dramatically, it would also put your privacy and data in risk. To avoid further damages, it’s highly recommended to remove IE AntiVirus if your computer is infected. Before any modifications to your system, please be sure to back up the critical data first. Good luck!

Wow! Good thing you have said something about this, because the name, and the look makes it look very real, so real that I would probably use it if it wasn’t for my wide intelligence of computers.
Always remember guys, if you never heard of the software/program before, check into it before buying! And always stick to using Anti-virus software that you have heard of, and make sure it is a legit site your getting it from!

I use Spyhunter to scan my c driver, but it cant scan any spyware , in my case IEAntiVirus. Everytime, i open my computer or using ie, it always pop up a alert window say you need to install IEantivirus. What can I do to remove this alert?

I downloaded SpyHunter and altho’ it ID’d the virus, it was unable to remove it. I’m not much of a technician, so can someone explain to me – step by step – how to remove this freakin’ virus! Many thanks!
By SoRcP on May 4, 2008 | Reply
1.) Instead of running people in circles why not just send them to the direct link? This might actually help them get rid of the virus.
2.) What about a FREEWARE virus or anti-spyware on the spot that will aide them right off and not leave them in the great disposition of sending their credit card or other pay info to the person whom has made the said virus/spyware?
3.) not everyone has a credit card or other payment means to register these programs to remove the said virus/spyware.

By Michael on May 8, 2008 | Reply
I have spent days trying to kill this thing!
The program has gone
The reg files and files listed have gone
But the bloody pop up window is STILL there!
Please, there has to be some way, without reinstalling the antivirus, which i may add doesnt remove the pop up window and keeps trying to install the same program over and over again!
I’m at my wits end!

I found the file that’s giving the annoying popup telling you to download it, it’s “C:\Windows\onekek.dll”
if you delete all the registry keys related to it, windows will let you delete it.
You can use SpyHunter to find all of the keys, and it can delete them for you, or you can do it yourself with the registry editor. (go start, run, regedit)
note: Spyhunter abbreviates the first files in the registry
HKCU = HKEY_CURRENT_USER
HKLM = HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
HKCR = HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT

Hi All,
now the issue is solved. and the first thing i did is opening this forum to put it… I was tortured by this virus for almost three days and I couldn’t open anything in my computer.
see what I did to clean it.
If you are already infected with this IEAV, you need to follow the removal instruction, if you are not yet infected with this malware and geting annoying popup,
I opened firefox clear all the browsing history. including all files.
I went to internet options -> programs -> manage add ons and disabled all the add ons which are marked as ‘not verified’ and I have had a doubt on this addon called ‘IE ext’ it was not shown any remarks as verified or not verified. but I disabled that too. I dont know which step actually solved the problem.
but I don’t want to see that again
hope it may help.
Thanks guys.

By Xman on Jun 23, 2008 | Reply
OK, I deleted all the files in the registry that I could find, even “onekek.dll” I am still getting that pop up. Also I can’t see where the manage add on that Sudhahar R was describing. Please elaborate more…anyone! I have spent the whole day today trying to get rid of this darn thing.
By Robert Brewer on Jun 24, 2008 | Reply
I suspect they move the goalposts as people figure them out.
I did not install the program, but I did have the annoying pop up.
I could locate none of the things here, the dll nor the add ons.
I did however clean out all the temporary files cookies etc, and then disable an unverified add ons. It sems to have stopped.

I got the ie antivirus but before I spent time trying to locate and delete files I did the following:
I reset the computer’s date to the day before the virus occured. Maybe I was just lucky but it seemed to work okay.
Through the All Programs menu:
1.
Click Start.
2.
Point to All Programs.
3.
Point to Accessories.
4.
Point to System Tools.
5.
Click System Restore.
6.
Follow the instructions on the wizard.

Restore doesn’t work for me. IE Antivirus 3.3 came back in a day. This thing is so annoying!

Hello every one,
My problem is that whenever I want to enter any folder or internet explorer, a fatal error message comes and says your computer is hacked and is infected by a virus … you need to install antivirus, then it download ie-av.exe, but I do not install it. But when I use firfox I do not have this problem. It is really bothering especially when I want to enter any folder.
I ran Symantic Anti, it could not find any thing.
I ran spybot, it could find some things, but after solving the problem and restarting the computer, I have the same problem.
I also ran Anti adware.
please guide me how I can get ride of this virous.
Best

I too followed Sudhahars way and found in add ons an add on called “Gold.Manager” or goldmanager.dll. I looked it up in Google and found out it was generating the pop-ups. Disabled it and problem solved.
By JW on Aug 7, 2008 | Reply
I removed it by doing the following:
1) Delete folder %program_files%\ieantivirus
2) Open a DOS window.
3) Stop explorer.exe and iexplorer.exe processes from Task Manager
4) From DOS window, delete file:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\navf.dll
5) Delete all items in registry that’s related to ieantivirus
6) Restart explorer
Hope this helps.

I think the next year will harvest even more victims of such scams. IE Antivirus is just one of hundreds of fake security programs which attack computers every day. It’s strange that those scams are supported by lots of domains. Someone is registering them, right? There’s a domain registar involved in these schemes.
