Got the Anitspyware 2010 (I think it was)

It would not even let me run the task manager - it kept closing it each time I ran it from ctrl shift esc, and would not let firefox browser load.

I WAS running fully uptodate Microsoft Security Servise at hte time (it did not stop it)

Shut down, and restarted into safe mode with networking (F8 during boot)

Run Malwarebyte - and told it to delete everything it found, this included
trojan.fakealert
Rogue.installer
Rebooted normally

Now works fine

I have been infected with PC Antispyware 2010.

The laptop is installed with Windows Vista.

AVG 9.0851 did not block my laptop from being infected.

Actions so far
Malwarebytes full scan did not discover it.
Microsoft Security Essentials quick scan did not discover it. I'm trying a full scan now.

It has been some time since January 31st, 2009 that I posted that comment. I came across this blog, because I had problems with this software before when I was home after having a bone tumor removed. The method I used truly worked. It was a sort-of out-of-the-blue thing, but putting the computer in safe mode, then uninstalling actually worked for me. I have a windows vista computer. Now, I use Norton Security Suite provided by comcast and the google chrome browser, which prevent my computer from viruses, etc. Hope this helps!
