I got infected with PC health center as well – however the files were called 1.exe through 7.exe.

Stopped the processes and deleted the files and i seem to be fine now.

  2. Reaps says:

fine and dandy IF the spyware doesn’t disable your ctrl-alt-delete access. Even running taskmgr doesn’t work, as it’s removed nearly everything (like control panel) from the start menu and disabled direct access to C:\ drive (though I can still get to it via the taskbar.. now to remember where to find everything else again)

either ‘PCHealthCenter’ got a whole lot smarter or a boatload of viruses got dumped on my other computer in one go. Frustrating.

  3. Michele217 says:

Hoo Hoo Nick, how did you remove the files? I have Zone Alarm. Zone Alarm can’t find them. I downloaded AVG and it found 1.exe and 5.exe, but not the others. Zone Alarm just keeps finding all the crazy Trojans that are associated with this virus, but not the main one. Thanks

I got infected with the pc health center. Avg finds it all, and I thought I removed the threats, but they seemed to appear the next day. Windows pop up for something that appear to be similar to a microsoft antivirus, but I wasn’t sure. Shift-Delete, c;\programfiles\pc-health center, and anyhting alse that looks out of ordinary. I also deleted some 122mb folder that was just above it, pc doctor or something. also shortcuts appear on my desktop to porno sits, like “Best Zoo Porn” and such. maybe I should get a mac!

  6. Matt says:

I’ve been infeced also, i tried to delete it from program files, that didnt work, but then i changed the name and deleted it, nothing since i did that half an hour ago. Scanning the computer with AVG, STOPzilla, Spyware doctor and spy hunter noww!

  7. Pilanks says:

Even i had a hit yesterday. Immediatly after hit, i started getting fake alerts. But luckily my Norton detected the files during scan. From the history, i found the locations of the files & removed those folders. No problem till now!

  8. Ken says:

Got infected just yesterday, sucker malware this is, haha/ Spybot Search and Destroy worked great for removing this :p Found all the infectious files then blew it away. And I’m sorry but McAfee is absolutely a no-no for reliability when it comes to infections.

  9. Cathy says:

I did these processes, but it (the files) keep coming back in reboot. Anyone else has this problem?

Also, my Norton Internet Security is of absolutely no help.

  10. nhnonna says:

I have been infected with this virus for DAYS now. I have removed the C:/ProgramFiles/PCHealthCenter files over and over and over again. Did this in safe mode and they still come back.
I have Avast Pro 8.0 and it has been useless. PLEASE help me –
Also picked up some viruses in my Local Settings/.tmp files and same as above. They keep coming back.

Listen up, I had this virus to…

If your alt task delete still works open it

find exe1, exe2, exe7 i think in the applications. Then close them and go to control panel program files/ pc healthcenter/ and delete the entire folder

    that did it for me

  12. jupstin says:

I also found some weird files in the c:/windows/pchealth folder

  13. Hans says:

I thought pchealth was a worm location on my PC running XP Sp3 and I deleted pchealth.

Now I’m not so sure I had a virus. But living without the Help and Support function provided by Windows XP I now try to re-install pchealth but without success so far.

    Any help will be appreciated.

  14. Andrie says:

DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING IF YOU SEE MULTIPLE WINDOWS SUDDENLY ASKING YOU OR TELLING YOU THAT YOU GOT INFECTED. SHUT OFF YOUR COMPUTER IMMEDIATELY BY PRESSING POWER BUTTON. AFTER THAT? FOLLOW THIS TIPS:

First: Shut down your internet connection.
Seconds: Go to Programs folder in my computer and find PCHEALTH FOLDER. Right click and delete this folder.
Second: Download malwarebytes software from malwarebytes.org from different computer and save it to a usb flashdisk or cd.
Third: Restart your computer. Install this software. You must remove PCHEALTH FOLDER first before doing this otherwise the virus will block you from attempting installing anything.
Fourth: Restart in safe mode. Restart and press F8.
Fifth: Run your anti virus with a full scan.
    Follow all the instruction.
Sixth: Try to restart your computer with internet off. If you see any error popup.dll meaning your computer still have the virus. In that case? you need to download kaspersky from kaspersky.com. Most of the malware trojans can be removed by malwarebytes but not other nasty stuff.
Seven: After you restart and you do not see any error? restart your internet connection and try your browser. If you see nothing happen? restart it again. Try to open with different browser.
Once it is clear? please remember not to check any porn site. LOL. These websites get a big chunk of commission from this fake PC Health company. I heard their office resides in Ukraine or somewhere in Eastern Europe. LOL. J/K

  15. Will says:

My task manager has been disabled by this. I cannot start in safe mode either. What can I do?

  16. Khalfan says:

As with any virus infection that can not
be either removed with an existing anti-virus
software or if the system has been hijacted
by a malware, and if it is possible to boot
into safe mode then all you have to do is to
use ‘system restore’ to an earlier date preferably a date before you suspect of the
virus infection. I tried the anti malware softwares but they could not get rid of it,
and besides I often tend to distrust the antivirus softwares anyway.

  17. LUKE says:
