I am always sceptical of anything flashing dire warning messages at me so we rebooted the pc and then left it for his father to look at later. I looked a while ago and found just a black screen and white cursor, so rebooted again. I printed out the instructions above though in case! When son signed on again, it all started up normally and no trace of the pccenter. Windows defender had had an update inbetween though and caught it, so I hope that is the end of it! I am not happy it got through our firewall though! Now doing a deep virus scan. My son had this appear today on his pc – running Vista.
