    Hi there,
This AntivirusPro 2010 managed to sneak onto my computer (I was doing bookings at guest houses on the internet when it happened!). I followed various extensive lists of advices given on the web (yours is about the 40th site I visited over the last two days) to remove it but alas, the false security center in the control panel remains as well as the red icon with the white cross in the tool bar below right, as well as the occasional balloon with bad spelling, reminding me that my computer is infected. Strange my Antivirus program seems unable to remove it as well. As soon as I click on the “security Center” icon or reboot for instance. it re-activates the virus and I have to go through the full circle again. No progress ..

    Hi Tinus,
Same problem here but been having other virus popping up after finally getting rid of 2010. I found the .exe files and when trying to delete, it did not work. But, I was able to change the name and disable it and then delete it. Good luck with this one, it’s a nightmare!

Absolute nightmare this one, no sooner you think you have it removed than your system closes down for a re-boot and it has secretly installed intself again from somewhere.

I’ve followed everything advised and some combined deleteing just about everything any on a huge number of sites suggested deleting, switched off system restore, booted in safe mode, run TMIS Pro, MWBW, SpyHunter, CC Cleaner
And just when you go phew and thing you’ve got it your system closes down as it suceeds in yet another silent install.

PS I picked it up off a DHL Email, or one reporting to be from DHL.

Not sure where I picked this virus up from. It can be really difficult to get rid of because every time you try to download a program that might help it redirects you to there website to upgrade to there useless program. I used program called combofix to get rid of it once and for all. pick it up here

    follow directions

    *** attention!!
((Firefox works even when this bullshit Antivrius 2010 pro is working on))
Steps to get rid of this Antivirus 2010 pro my ass.

    1. re-start your computer and boot with safe mode.(press F8 while the booting)

(You need to change one setting to see this hidden folder where this bull shit program is.)
    2. start -> control panel -> (classic view) -> folder option -> go to ‘view’ tab -> click ’show hidden files and folders’ -> click ‘OK’

(This is where the bull shit file is located. c:\Documents and Settings\**your user name:delete this part and put your user name**\Local Settings\Application Data\oklojg\lcwdsysgurd.exe)

    3. delete ‘oklojg’ folder. this folder is full of bullshit.

    4. start -> run -> type ‘msconfig’ -> go to ’startup’ tab -> uncheck ‘lcwdsgurd’

    5. restart your computer and boot normaly. It should work fine. good job!

ps. thank you for dumbasses who made this program.. people with mental Disability who still don’t know how to make their own money and sucking at life.go to hell. you guys are not needed for the earth.

I am trying to follow das directions but I cannot find the oklojg folder. Can it be under another name. I just deleted the cyberdefender file but I dont see the other one

worked great for me from das. mine was c:Documents and Settings\kris\Local Settings\Application Data\lewxaa
when I scrolled on top of folder ‘ lewxaa ‘ it’s contents showed ‘ lmkksysguard ‘ which was similar to what ‘ das ‘ had (lcdwdsysgurd.exe) also, at that point, what also gave it away was the date that this file was downloaded into my files was the date the problems started
I had to delet folder ‘ lewxaa ‘

I just had it installed on my system, I’m going to downgrade the computer anyways, but still this pised me off

My problemes was the same, that was discribed before.

My firefox.exe started the program, too. I think it wasnt infected. It only was linked with the windows-registry. I was able to start it with right-mouse-button –> start.

After activating “show hidden files and folders” and “show system files” in safe mode like “das” explained I found it as:

    “C:\Users\*username*\AppData\Local\av.exe”

After closing it fith the task-manager, I was able to delete it.

I deleted a second file. The name of it seems to consist of random letters (small and big letters mixed). I don’t know if that is needed. I forgot the name, but names and folders seem change by every infection, so it deosn’t matter. Be careful and do not delete a file the system needs.

Because there was no value in msconfig like “das” said, I started “regedit” in
    start –> run
and searched “av.exe” I found it about ten times and deleted everthing.

Be very careful ths method could destroy everything.

Now my “Avira AntiVir Personal Edition” doesnt start any more. So I have to re-install it.

    Excuse possible english problems.

  17. By Anonymous on Feb 15, 2010 | Reply

I tried reversing to old backup copy, but then my internet connection would not work. Tried a few opensouce virus software and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware remove av.exe. I still had to fix browsers home page default to stop pointing to the vista antivirus pro web site.

My laptop somehow got infected with this virus, and go it bad; when I boot up my computer the vista antivirus windows pop up and the screen behind them stays black, even after I closed the windows. I tried running safe mode too, and that stops loading almost as soon as it starts. Please help, my computer is effectively useless right now.

  21. By ahole on Feb 24, 2010 | Reply

obviously they dont post how to get to the hard parts. the same guy telling us how to fix it probably is the one making it easier to get into the computer

  22. By Kp on Mar 6, 2010 | Reply

Help!! Just got this. When I restart, by screen is black except for the virus!! How do I get this off?

  23. By Kimmie on Mar 8, 2010 | Reply

So annoyed. I never download crap like this but I was so frustrated by the virus stuff that I did…and paid for it! I’m an idiot…I know. I called my bank and they refunded me and put in a claim against this company. My laptop is so jacked I think I’m just going to have to reset it to factory….if I can even do that. Thank God I have everything backed up . This sucks so bad.

  24. By PaPap on Mar 9, 2010 | Reply

I was able to find the av.exe. Couldn’t delete it-Access Denied. I renamed it and tried to delete with the same result. Disabled “read oly” I gave my username “effective permission” in advanced security setting. I cut and pasted it to desktop and then tried dragging it to the recycle bin. All in Safe Mode. None of this works.

Now I cannot run regedit.exe or a number of other programs.

    This is really, evil shit!

    WHAT NEXT!

  25. By PaPap on Mar 10, 2010 | Reply

YES! Somehow I got rid of it. Ran System Restore in Safe Mode and upon restart (in Mormal Windows Mode) the evil monster was gone!

    Need help.

Cannot find my Documents and Settings folder in C: drive.

Destroyed my whole notebook. Since yesterday there’s no way to work. This Antivirus Pro kicked my Firewall and everything, was hacked yesterday, now my programmes won’t work. This programm found 31 Infections which can’t be removed (”Purchase full version”). Installed Norton Internet Security, found one harmless Cookie. That’s it. And now even Antivirus can’t be found anymore on my desktop. It vanished. But still infected, notebook does not run normally. I could kill these people, who spend their time spreading viruses.
