ShieldSafeness is malicious anti-spyware software descended from the same family as many rogue anti-spyware applications, including SoftVeteran, SoftStronghold, SoftCop and many others.
ShieldSafeness usually sneaks into your machine as you visit some site promoting the software or click on an online scanner. Trojans, which aid in putting the threat into your personal computer, make some changes in your registry. First, the configure it in such a way that ShieldSafeness would be started as Windows boots up. Second, these Trojans create some files which are later treated as infections.
As you can see, ShieldSafeness is not a real anti-spyware. It is created to look legible for the inexperienced computer users, although it is only a way to steal your money.
