I found sr.exe. However, it said “in use” while I tried to delete the file.

Denis,
You have to go to you tab bar near you start button to close the big red X box. Then go to programs and delete all related files from there. Good luck so far I’ve gotten my computer back.

I got infected with the preceder, Virus Remover 2008. My parents were freaking out and everything, so I used the search and managed to find the core file, which was called VirusRemover.exe. It wasn’t attached to the hard drive! That’s how you know if it’s a virus. You go to Control Panel>Programs>Add/Remove Programs and if the name doesn’t come up, IT’S A VIRUS!!!

The problem you’re referring to (if I understand it) is conflicting programs. The REAL Windows Defender as identified the virus in Spyware Remover 2009. You need to delete it! When it ’scanned’ my PC, it took me to the internet. That’s not possible in a LIGITAMENT spyware remover.
