I have Windows Vista, and I tried a system restore to an earlier date, but it said an unspecified error had occurred and no changes to my registry had been made. I rebooted my computer in safe mode and attempted a system restore from that, so far it's been taking about 3 hours and it's still going on. I've done a system restore on a different computer before and it only took about 20 minutes max.
