Virus Trigger (VirusTrigger) Removal Instructions
November 5th, 2008 | by Alex |Virus Trigger Descriptions:
Virus Trigger, also known as VirusTrigger, is new counterfeit anti-spyware software that created to invade yoru privacy and ruin the Internet community. Just like most fake antispywares, Virus Trigger issues misleading and exaggerated results. Virus Trigger usually installed itself onto your PC without your permission, through Vundo Trojan, Virus or fake software. VirusTrigger will display fake system alerts or fake security alerts to trick user to buy the paid version of VirusTrigger , in order to remove the potential and reported problems. Likely error messages include, “System Alert! Your system might be infected with malicious software that may impact the performance of your computer. Click the icon for a free scan to detect any active spyware applications.” Not only does it cause your machine to slow down dramatically, it would also put your privacy and data in risk.

As we understand, it is very difficult but necessary to remove all the components of Virus Trigger and all the malware and trojans that Virus Trigger might have come bundle with (such as zlob.trojan, trojan.vundo and Trojan.Downloader). To effectively remove Antispyware XP 2009, we have created a manual removal instructions to take care of this. Be sure to back up the data first. Good luck in removing Virus Trigger and relating trojans!

Has anyone purchased Spyhunters to get rid of Virus Trigger, and did it work?
By John on Nov 16, 2008 | Reply
Kelly, you don’t have to pay for it. From everything I have read, many people used it as a “free” scanner,
as all the files/directories are displayed, just follow the instructions and delete them manually. Easy enough? More important, it’s free!

I don’t have Virus Trigger, but there’s a red x warning sitting on the taskbar. It’s so annoying. What files should I remove? Thank you…

Won’t let me delete from my computer it says access is denied and to make sure i have room on disk or something…any help?
By Kelly on Nov 16, 2008 | Reply
The scan is FREE the program to then remove the virus is NOT free. I have looked at about 4 to 5 different website blogs that list the files to delete, however every website lists different files to delete. Some say that once you delete the files the virus adds new ones and makes it impossible to completely delete the virus from your computer without the paid program. Did you delete the virus/files yourself?

OMG!!!!
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS THEY ALSO WORK!!!
Okay, so like all of you I freaked…I got messages from Norton that a Trojan had been blocked, so I immediatly scanned my comp and while doing so, I noticed ‘Virus Trigger’ on my desktop. I got messages from it and tried to remove it with Program Uninstall in Control Panel but I couldn’t, it said I had been denied access. So, I searched on Google and found this site and someone saying to do System Restore….AND IT WORKED!!!! YAY IM SOOOOOOO HAPPY! I have A Windows XP and Norton Antivirus, and it worked for me, so I really hope it works for all of u…so just use System Restore!

system restore works in some situation, but not all. the virus sometimes erases the system restore history so u might be out of luck. one drawback about system restore is that it might not clean all the virus files. i helped a friend to clean the virus then it comes back in a couple of weeks. personally, i think the best way to get rid of this is to back up the data and reload xp or vista. or better yet, get a mac or try linux.

Thanks - best advice of all and works. Took a few mins to do and problem went. I would just love to put that guy against a wall - what sick fun do they get out of this type of distructive programming. Got hit with it looking at a Landrover parts site.

Kelly,
The scan is free then you can manually remove the files youself. But if you want to pay for Spy hunter yes it works!
Check out the instructions for removing Virus Lab 2009 and follow them (but related to trigger though)

HELP!
I have Virus Trigger, but the instructions above are no help - for starters, the VirusTrigger.exe and VirusTriggerBin.exe processes (or anything similar) do not appear in Windows Task Manager (I have looked very carefully through the Processes list over and over). Also, I find no Virus Trigger files on my system or “VirusTrigger” in the Registry.
What I do have though are desktop shortcuts appearing to suspect websites, and that flashing Taskbar notification icon. I set that to “Always Hide” but it reappears after a restart.
And IE HomePage won’t save either, it resets itself to “about:blank” and then IE tries to go to this site: http : // anotherdnserrorz . com / security…. (it continually flashes the URL at the bottom of IE, but I have disconnnected my internet connection to limit damage any further). Lucky I have access to another working computer to post this message for help. Please…Thanks
Paul
