My friends machine did not have an updated anti-virus. I tried downloading an anti-virus from a torrenta nd turns out that software was infected with this Vista-AV shit.

Now we are both techies and we tried dealing with this crap. I did manage to get rid of this crap but in teh process I deleted 2 dll’s that were critical fr windows booting.

@Kris: Its not worth trying to deal with this virus yourself. Get a friend to help you.If thats not possible. Then take a backup of your most essential data and do a fresh installation from scratch.

I am not a computer wizard. Can someone help me in plain English and layman terms. I’m an older person on a fixed income and I can’t afford to put out a lot of money to fix this problem. Thank you.
