wav.exe, or simply wav , is a file that associated with a rogue anti-spyware application called Windows Antivirus 2008. Don’t be fooled. wav is a fake software by itself but advertises itself as a removal tool. This annoying rogue antispyware application is back after changing its face mask. It is believed that it is a variant of XP Antivirus 2008. As a matter of fact, it is one of the latest counterfeit anti-spyware softwares that causes troubles for so many innocent computer users today.

If you happen to see this file in your computer, you need to remove it immdiately.

Stop wav Processes:

Find and Delete these wav Files:

I had this happen and it was the worst hijack I ever hadon a cpmputer.It actually went to sites that asked for credit cards.. Anyway I only had it for a few hours and finally did system restore back a week and all is well for now…hope I amnot missing something here……….thanks for your help here.

The registry values here were wrong. Just search for WindowsAntivirus2008 in the registry and delete all occurrences. Another thing to add, before you start do this. Goto the windows task manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL) click on the processes tab find the process named “wav.exe” click on it then click end process. This will stop the annoying pop ups so that you can get to work. And possibly prevent it from moving around and multiplying while you’re deleting it.

hello i have the same thing but its anti virus 2009 with Windows AV wave.exe i want to remove it please help me.
