Remove Malware Protection Center

The big family of rogueware applications is growing. This time the fake program Malware Protection Center is reported to check for vulnerabilities in running applications and use them to penetrate into computers. The malicious program uses deceitful techniques to root itself deep into the system and then start imitating the layout and actions of a legitimate anti-malware application. Neither the messages, nor the scan results displayed by this security tool show reliable and accurate information. This fraudulent intruder is aimed at making unsuspecting users pay for the bogus full version of Malware Protection Center. The truth is that even if you pay for its useless services, Malware Protection Center is not able to protect your PC or the information stored on it. This is just scam software that cannot ensure the safety of your system.

Malware Protection Center is known to be a member of the Rogue.VirusDoctor family. This rogue uses all ways of entering into targeted PCs common for this family. For example, the fake program uses malicious web pages which promote fake online scanners. If a person is tricked into scanning his computer with such a scanner, the user will be told that there are many compromised files on the computer and to remove them he needs to download some application. However, he will not be alarmed that if the file is downloaded, the deceitful application Malware Protection Center will also be transferred to his PC. Another way of transferring the attacker is through the use of web pages which are able to exploit vulnerabilities in programs running on targeted computers. Vulnerabilities are then used as entrances to the machine.

The next step of the attacker is to hide itself in the system without letting the owner of the computer know about its intentions. If you notice popping up messages warning you about serious system problems and errors, you have to know that probably you have become one of the victims of Malware Protection Center. This rogue antivirus application will not stop displaying frightening error messages which warn you about possible system crashes and system loss. The warnings will display the following information:

Address space conflict
Warning! Access conflict detected
An unidentified program is trying to access system process address space.

Warning! Virus Detected
Threat Detected: Trojan-Spy.HTML.BankFraud.ra
Recommended: Please click “Remove All” button to erase all infected files and protect your PC.

System Alert
Suspicious software which may be malicious has been detected on your PC. Click here to remove this threat immediately using Malware Protection Center.

Not only that, but Malware Protection Center will also make a fake scan of your system and pretend to detect many infected files. Then the fake application will claim that these files need to be removed as soon as possible, otherwise the whole system may crash. In fact, none of these files is a real threat. They are created by Malware Protection Center itself to scare the user into thinking his PC is seriously compromised. This creation of cyber criminals is aimed at scaring victims and making them pay for its useless services. The truth is that the services provided by Malware Protection Center are not effective, and you cannot rely on Malware Protection Center to ensure the safety of your computer.

To protect your information and system, remove the intruder as soon as you can and make sure that you have deleted all the files created by this malicious program. Choose and install a genuine anti-malware application that will be able to provide you with trustworthy security services and detect any computer threats. Moreover, do not disclose personal or bank account details to the creators of this application, because they can misuse it.

Malware Protection Center (Removal Guide)

Nowadays apart from having the most reliable and modern computer configuration, it is of vital importance to find the most effective way to protect you personal and financial information. This is due to that fact that hackers are becoming more and more inventive. Every day they create new ways of penetrating into targeted PCs and tricking their users into thinking they have the opportunity to buy a legitimate and trustworthy application. Cyber criminals use all known deceitful techniques to spread malicious programs which pretend to be genuine software and imitate the layout and actions of reliable security tools. One of their latest creations is Malware Protection Center. Despite its trustworthy name, the truth is that this program is not able to protect your PC and ensure the safety of the data saved on it. If you become a victim of Malware Protection Center, it will put your whole system in danger and even make it possible for other malicious intruders to gain access to your machine.

Figure 1. Malware Protection Center GUI

Malware Protection Center is known to belong to one of the well-known computer virus families – Rogue.VirusDoctor. The attacker uses any vulnerabilities in programs running on targeted computers in order to enter the machines. This is done with the help of compromised web pages. Another malicious trick used to gain access to computers is the fake online scan. When a PC user visits a malicious web page which offers a free system scan, this harmless scan may lead to serious computer problems. After the scan is completed, it will end up with frightening results – the user needs to download some file that can fix the infected machine. However, the victim is not alarmed that this download will transfer the deceitful program Malware Protection Center to his PC. After the download is completed, Malware Protection Center roots itself deep into the system and is ready to start its fraudulent plan.

First, Malware Protection Center creates many infected files and hides them in the %UserProfile%\Recent\ directory. The files have random characters in their names, and they will be later reported by Malware Protection Center itself as severe computer threats. The next step of Malware Protection Center is to start displaying pop-up messages. They will warn the user about serious computer problems and many system errors. The messages will not stop popping up even if the user tries to close them. The messages will show the following frightening information:

Warning! Virus Detected
Threat Detected: Trojan-Spy.HTML.BankFraud.ra
Recommended: Please click “Remove All” button to erase all infected files and protect your PC.

System Alert

Address space conflict
Warning! Access conflict detected
An unidentified program is trying to access system process address space.

To be even more convincing, Malware Protection Center will start a fake system scan. The scan will pretend to check all key locations of the infected PC for viruses and errors. Finally, the results will show a long list with compromised files which need to be removed as soon as possible, otherwise you risk the safety of your information and computer. Not only that, but if you do not delete the files immediately, you may even experience a serious system crash. The truth is that the results displayed show only the files created by Malware Protection Center itself. This is a part of the deceitful plan of the tricky program to scare you into thinking you need to purchase the full version of the malicious program to solve your computer problems. You will not be allowed to delete any files without paying for the bogus registered edition of the application.

Do not be tricked by any of these fake messages and empty threats. They do not show accurate information. The only aim of Malware Protection Center is to take your money. To protect your system from this fraudulent attacker, remove it as soon as you can and install reliable and legitimate security software.
